Preparation & Cooking
Product must be fully cooked for food safety and quality. Since appliances vary, these cooking times are approximate. PREPARATION DIRECTIONS: FOR THAWED AND FROZEN PRODUCT CAUTION: AFTER COOKING, BAGS ARE VERY HOT. Microwave Oven: Microwave one bag at a time. (Times are based on 2200 watt oven. Adjust times according to your microwave oven). 1. Cut slit 1-2 inches long in center of bag and place bag in microwave oven. 2. Heat on medium to medium-high setting, until potatoes reach 170-180°F (77-82°C). Thawed: 4-7 minutes Frozen: 10-13 minutes 3. Halfway through the cook time, knead bag thoroughly to mix product and push the corners inward to avoid overheating. 4. Place potatoes in serving container. 5. Fluff with fork and serve. Steamer 1. Place bag of mashed potatoes in perforated tray. 2. Heat until potatoes reach 170-180°F (77-82°C). Thawed: 19-21 minutes Frozen: 23-27 minutes. For full Steamer load, add 6-8 minutes to cook times. 3. Place potatoes in serving container. 4. Fluff with fork and serve. Boil-In-Bag 1. Place bag of mashed potatoes into boiling water. 2. Heat until potatoes reach 170-180°F (77-82°C). Thawed: 20-23 minutes Frozen: 25-30 minutes 3. Place potatoes in serving container. 4. Fluff with fork and serve. Helpful hints: (1) To ensure uniform cooking, turn bags over, halfway through cooking when using the boil-in bag and steamer preparation directions. (2) After heating product thoroughly, mix the hot product.
